Schwiet Garden~~~ Elegant ruffled Flower

Every odd day of the month I will present a new gardening tip. The best news is you don't have to be a green thumb to have success with these tips because they are suggested tutorials for flowers to be included in your crafts.

By far my absolute favorite is the Elegant Ruffles Flower and I use it on probably one of every five layouts/projects. They remind me of some Prima flowers I had once owned.I kept those Prima flowers in my stash forever because they were so pretty I could not part with them.

This is a modified Elegant Ruffle. I changed up the middle a little. For the middle I just did smaller flowers with the same twist. The other great part about my take is the lace portion of the flowers. I used the black lace from the July Funtoola kit. To stiffen it up I modge podge it on a transparency sheet.

Last 2 Wedding Album Pages ~~~ Funtoolas

Be sure to come back in two days so you can see the little church that stores this mini album. I have created a video of the entire project. And in just a matter of days it will be release day for Funtoolas August kit and there are several activities planned in the Funtoola site. Did you know you can sign up there FREE??!!

I do have room for about three more tags, but the newlyweds will have this album as is. I think the two tags can surprise them at a later date.

Schwiet garden ~~~ Sewn Ribbon Flower

Every odd day of the month I will present a new gardening tip. The best news is you don't have to be a green thumb to have success with these tips because they are suggested tutorials for flowers to be included in your crafts.

As if ribbon wasn't pretty enough on a page, turn it into a flower and BAM instant drool factor for a page. I am once again featuring another amazing tutorial by the mega talented Amy AKA Amarilys. She has a wonderful sewn ribbon flower that is to-die-for-awesome.

Heart and Lock ~~~ Funtoola Kit

I still have more of this mini album to show off and more to the ever amazing July Funtoolas kit. This would be pages three and four.

On page three I have some pictures tucked behind the large pocket on the page and a small tag (based on Mojo Monday Sketch) in the little pocket.

On page four I have a large sideways pocket heart. I layered the blue flowers in the kit using a modified version of the nine layer tutorial and to add some emphasis I included a little of the lace for the kit to the flower.

The black sticker were so fun to play with. In fact I even used the white negative space for part of page three. I even laced up the portion of the black sticker on the heart with some gold thread.

Schwiet Garden ~~~ 9 layer flower

Every odd day of the month I will present a new gardening tip. The best news is you don't have to be a green thumb to have success with these tips because they are suggested tutorials for flowers to be included in your crafts.

My pages know no bounds. I really struggle to get them into a page protector  thanks to my love of 3-d elements. Here's one amazing, full, 3-d nine layer flower tutorial. This tutorial calls for 9 store bought layering flowers but I have done this with punched paper flowers.

Here's a modified nine layer... this was 5 flowers and four layers:

Fan flowers, accordion flowers, rosettes, no matter what you call these enormous popular flowers I have an extra special gardening tip for you. Check out how to make a fan flower with a twist tutorial. Its a very easy twist that makes these flowers even more masculine then what they can come off being.

Stacey Album ~~~ Funtoolas

I have saved little snips of paper and I was able to use these left overs to start my stand-up album (a Heide Swapp lesson). This album will be a constant work in progress just like I am. I plan to add pages to this album of pictures of happy times along with some wonderful quotes. So here's what will be my top two layers and, of course, the bottom layer. The ribbons, white twine, and the black card stock are from my stash everything else including the lace, chippie, pearls and stamps are part of the amazing Funtoolas kit.

Schwiet Garden ~~~ Banner flower

Every odd day of the month I will present a new gardening tip. The best news is you don't have to be a green thumb to have success with these tips because they are suggested tutorials for flowers to be included in your crafts.

I must admit the latest banner/pennant craze has bit me and bit me hard, so imagine my excitement when I found this tutorial on making your banners into flowers. It will take a lot of punched out pennants to make these flowers, but based on how they look on the layout shown you have to admit they look great. So check out the banner/pennant flower tutorial.

Schwiet Garden ~~~ Sunflower

Every odd day of the month I will present a new gardening tip. The best news is you don't have to be a green thumb to have success with these tips because they are suggested tutorials for flowers to be included in your crafts.
Literally nothing stands out more in one's garden then a sunflower, so for today's tutorial I'd like to encourage you to try this sunflower tutorial. Some of the things I like the most about Michele's tutorial is her fearless build of layers and the awesome way she made the seed-like sunflower center.

Schwiet Garden ~~~ Sweetheart Vine

Every odd day of the month I will present a new gardening tip. The best news is you don't have to be a green thumb to have success with these tips because they are suggested tutorials for flowers to be included in your crafts.
So I love playing with wires and making my own embellishments with the wire designs. One simple wire embellishment is vines and here's a very detailed yet simple tutorial on making a Sweetheart Vine.

I used the blue flowers provided in the kit to make a modified Sweetheart Vine.
