Counterfeit the Design Team Blog Hop

Welcome to the Counterfeit the Design Team Blog Hop. This month the group at the counterfeit team set up a challenge to find inspiration in a member of their design team as a challenge. I mimicked Jessica's "Let it Snow" layout after seeing and loving her use of circles and pock-a-dot ribbon.

This month I am working on gutting an old hard cover book and turning it into an explosion book based on our wedding pics. This is the bottom most page of my book and on the right side is where I put my copy cat Jessica tactics to work. I used plain old card stock plus gcd studio papers from the "Eye Candy" collection.

This is actually the wedding invitation turned into a pocket as a storage spot for the cards from our wedding. I used another part of the transparency to make this bird flourish.

This is the right side. I made a hear shape pocket to store a few tokens from our wedding. I used a transparency so that you can see whatever I decide to store in the pocket. I quilled the key and the flowers are from a swap. I hope to give credit to the maker of the flowers but she didn't label her bag, so when I know I will update this page. I added a little pink H2O glimmering water to the white petals on the flower.

Check back later this month to see what else I have accomplished with this book and the amazing kit the Counterfeit team encouraged me to make. I plan to get a lot scrapped as I scrap until I drop at the Page's In Time On-Line Crop. If you want to have fun and need encouragement using up the kit I hope you'll come and meet me there.

Now I must send you on to your next stop on the hop to see what inspiration Crystal has stolen. Have a great hop and see you around the blog spot.

X's Paper Bag Album

Here is the completed album.
The majority of the materials were from my March Counterfeit Kit. I can proudly say I have depleted much of this kit. I still have some random embellishments. Two papers went completely unused so they were refiled. I didn't scrap many of my pictures I originally planned because this was an unplanned album.

Future MVP ~~~ Counterfeit Kit

The counterfeit team sent out a highly motivational challenge: to scrap memorabilia. This challenge could not have come at a better time since we took our baby to see the Tampa Bay Rays play, which of course was his first MLB game. Naturally, I used the game day tickets as embellishments and tucked them into a pocket under the circle on the page, and I also used the program they gave out. This program was used like pattern paper on my project. I used the page to record stats as the circle on the page. The banner is from an article called "The Dirt" which showcases personal questions about a select player and this edition was Reid Brignac. I did a bit of fussy cutting for embellishments and I punched the flowers and butterflies from the program.

Items from the kit include the blue background paper from my Miss Elizabeth collection, white and blue card stock, glitter glue, butterfly and flower punch, journaling spot, and bottle cap.

My page is based on a layout called "Time Shares" from Scrapperlicious. I invite you to join Pages in Time and to honor this amazing artist with our scrap lift the Inspirational Muse of the Month Challenge. One lucky random scraplifter will win a small RAK. Plus free your calendars for the last weekend of the month when Pages in Time will be having an on-line crop. I hope to scrap with you there.

April Counterfeit Kit

This month the Counterfeit Kit Master Forgers decided to steal from the Front Porch Kit. When I saw the pink and teal, I knew this kit would be ideal for my wedding album. A large part of my kit is thanks to Big Lots for the gcd studio papers I purchased there. Most of my kit is from their "Eye Candy" collection. I also have some of my favorite DCV papers as well as random bits of this and that.

My embellishments include bling, buttons, and bottle caps. There is a versatile piece of transparency for faux bling, wings, and the acetate heart mentioned in the kit. I have flowers from a recent swap in this kit but I guarantee I'll make flowers that will match perfect to my scrap pages. Glitter glue along with my version of "Sparkling H2O" will add shimmer to my layouts. Also included is googly eyes, feathers, ribbons, and trims.

Because this is my wedding album I included a wedding add-on kit with wedding die cuts, chip board, vellum, and rub-ons. Also I included an amazing lock and key my friend Jenny AKA "JustOwen" made for me in a swap.

When my computer is back in shape I plan to add die cut birds and metal charms. I'm making a quilled key and bird cage along with origami birds and a paper pieced peacock.

Inspirational Muse of the Month-Pages in Time

Who inspires your creative side?

They are many artists that make me want to be a better crafter. Pages in Time will honor each month an artist that inspires us scrapers with the title Inspirational Muse of the Month. Our first Inspirational Muse Is *Irene Tan* aka Scrapperlicious. She is an amazing and inspirational artist. If I had to think of one artist I have lifted most frequently, it is easily Scrapperlicious. Thanks to her informative blog, she is my favorite scrap teacher. She is the artist that inspired me the most to leave behind flat scrapbook pages and to let my cardstock over flow with pretties. I am guilty of scrap lifting her multiple times. Anyone else find that when your struggling to complete a page you default to scraplifting Scrapperlicious? Who is your favorite artist?

I invite you to join Pages in Time and to honor this amazing artist with our scrap lift the Inspirational Muse of the Month Challenge. One lucky random scraplifter will win a small RAK.

I put together a slide show of pages I scraplifted or techniques I used after seeing her amazing work.
